Exciting news- the work has started. For those eager eyed of you, the scaffolding was put up at the end of last week. This is to be able to take the chimney down.  The fireplace is now out. There is now some partitioning up either side of the wall to keep dust and debris to a minimum. This is while the wall is coming down.

At the time of writing this (6 pm 1st May), the chimney is off the roof. We can now see daylight through the roof!! By the end of Thursday 2nd May the wall be down. The builders can then tidy up the wall and install a steel lintel across the underside of the roof. Once this is done and tidy again, the partitioning will come down and the room will be open plan for a bit until the bi-fold doors are installed.

The project will now unfold over the next few months.
