The Glenister Golf Academy boasts two experienced PGA Professional’s offering first class instruction in the fun, friendly and relaxed environment at Ombersley Golf Club.
Lessons are taken on our undercover driving range, short game area, putting green or first class all weather 18 hole golf course.
The academy caters for all abilities, whether you’re new to the game, or have high hopes of competing at tournament level, then our Professional’s will put you through your paces to ensure maximum success.
There are also regular group sessions available, including the Ladies Coffee Morning, Senior Coaching and Junior Academy with Mark Nelson.

Graham Glenister: General Manager & PGA Professional
Graham has been at Ombersley Golf Club since 1990 and is passionate about teaching golf to absolutely everyone who wants to play the game.
He gets as much enjoyment from teaching a complete novice to hit a cracker as he does showing a single figure handicapper how to shave a couple of shots off his or her round. Graham’s in depth studies of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) have combined to increase his communication skills to enable him to work faster and in tune with his pupils best learning method.
He believes “simple is brilliant” and the best teacher is the one who makes you both understand and better in the easiest possible way.

Mark Nelson: PGA Professional
Mark has been part of the Glenister Golf Academy team since 2014. During this time he has developed an extensive client base of all ages and abilities and helped many golfers reach their potential and achieve their goals. He has also created a junior academy and unique structure which aims to develop all aspects of young aspiring golfers.
Mark specifically has an interest in the biomechanics of the golf swing. His knowledge of which has been developed through his own research into the effects of training on golf swing kinematics using 3D biomechanics to analyse the results.
Marks bachelors degree in Golf Management, PGA class A qualification and years of experience have created an approach to coaching that can be adapted to suit any individual.
