See how our team of Greenkeepers are keeping the course in top condition
What a month of weather it has been so far this March?!
We seem to have had it all, snow, rain, sunshine, wind and more! Before the snow hit our Greenkeeping team were busy with winter work such as tree pruning and painting course furniture such as yardage markers.
Whilst there has not been much grass growth they continue to mow in order to stripe up the course nicely and maintain a sharp finish to playing surfaces.
There has been no disease affecting the golf course, this is a result of our intensive maintenance regime which provides good aeration and nutrition along with free drainage, this encourages strong roots and healthy grass.
When the snow hit it put a halt to the action at first but our team did not stop for long as they were back out getting the course ready for play as soon as the snow stopped.
At the moment, the course is free from snow and we are playing on first class apron greens in order to allow the main greens to recover from the minus temperatures and snow. We are still operating full grass tee boxes and have no restrictions on buggies or trollies.
